February 2006

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are preparing for a festive Groundhog's Day. It is supposed to rain here, so I plan to duck back into my den and get back to work revising A Clockwork Murder. That's right, I finished the first draft of Viral Coat and have been editing like the wind. I've sent out ACM to a few new beta readers, and I have a few more interested. I want to get the new version done before I send it out.

One of the "big" changes is that I've altered Zook's walking stick. Instead of a straight one, it will be a cane with a crook so I can take advantage of the bizarre martial art of cane fighting. Check it out at http://canemasters.com/ if you want to learn more.

Another big bit of news is that I've sweet-talked a kick boxing instructor/former bouncer into reading ACM and critiquing the fight scenes. Yeah, yeah, I know it is hard to improve on perfection (heh) but you never know. I'm excited to get an expert opinion. And if you are in San Francisco and want to learn to kick box, I can put you in touch.

In other news, I submitted my short story Adrift to Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine. We'll see if it gets published. I should hear in the next month or three. I'm not a short story guy, but it would be great exposure.

And to tide you over til I get published, check out Tamera Siler Jones's (http://www.tamarasilerjones.com/) two books (Ghosts In The Snow is the first one). I read the first one and it is kind of a CSI-type story set in a gritty fantasy world (gritty = no elves). It is a different tone than ACM, but well worth a read.

Finally, I've changed the site so that you no longer have to register and login. Now, to get the newsletter, you can give your email address and name and request to get on the list. You can find the box to do that on the home page (toddcedwards.com ), and you can also use it to get off the list.

Enjoy!
